When I took my flight to Nairobi for the very first time I had only the wish to come back home from Kenya with at least one good photo in my backpack. I had no idea how things would develop there and if I would manage to make some images in Amboseli that I would consider good enough. It is important to be humble I believe, and go step by step, enjoying and learning along the way. To my surprise every expectation I had on that trip was exceeded by far. It was a huge work preparing the expedition, researching, polishing the skills I thought would be necessary in a journey like that,… It was an intense and exhausting experience, but truly worth. I came back to Europe with some photos I was happy with, but it was not until I shared them on social media and with the public in general, that I could get some real and trustful feedback about them. After my first trip, I decided to return to Kenya to continue and develop a wider photography project there, and after this second trip an idea was growing inside me: to share not only the photographs I made there, but also to tell the story behind the scenes, not only from the photographer perspective, but from the more human and personal point of view, how I lived that experience, how the photography project was born, how I prepared the trips to Amboseli and and how I faced the numerous challenges in the field. And then I decided to write my first photography book, to share all of this with everyone who wants to know, and to do it on paper. Photographs on paper come alive, they are much more beautiful than on a screen, and the feeling and connection to the viewer is a completely different experience. Much better. The journey to write and publish this book has been truly enriching, pushing me to keep the camera apart for some time, which is hardly for a passionate photographer, and invest a significant amount of time and efforts in its development and production.

I want to mention as well that maximum attention and priortity has been given to the quality of the photographs and the production of this book. I made no compromises there. I want that anyone getting this book has the best photography and quality possible. In doing so I was choosing to work with and want too thank for their great support during the production of this book to GCC- Grafisches Centrum Cuno (www.cunodruck.de), one of the best printing companies for art books in Germany, and so in Europe. Their technical advice and quality standards have been paramount. The best printing technology has been used, special care about the paper quality, and great professional work with a great team. And last but not least I want to  truly thank Nicole for her continue support in the realization of this book and in general with my all photography projects. She is a key stone of it and it is fair to say it.

In “The Giants Whisper” I tell all of that and share  with everyone a selection of the best photographs I have taken in Kenya during my trips there. There has been a huge work involved in the creation of this book, which is a very personal project. I learned very much on the way, and that is enough reward for me. But in addition to that, I wanted that all the work and efforts invested in its realization would help to support the wildlife in Kenya and the Maasai community there, because without them this would have not been possible, and because it is fair and necessary. So, a part of the sales of this book will be for charity and wildlife support projects in Kenya.

Finally I sincerely want to thank you for buying “The Giants Whisper”, and I hope you can hear it too…, that you enjoy its content more than once, and I can convey some of the feelings and emotions I experienced in Kenya. For those of you that would like to have your copy signed by me, please indicate it at the time of making your order.
